Save the Children is thrilled to announce the launch of a prestigious global media award in celebration of excellence in journalism dedicated to child rights. This award is particularly significant as it commemorates the centenary of the adoption of the first Declaration of the Rights of the Child by the League of Nations, a groundbreaking document drafted by our founder, Eglantyne Jebb.

This competition is open to professional journalists from every corner of the globe, encouraging those whose impactful storytelling has brought critical child rights issues to light. The award will recognize two outstanding individuals: one from a local or regional media outlet, and another from an international media outlet or wire service.

Entries are welcomed across all forms of media, including print, broadcast (TV, radio, and podcasts), photography, and digital formats. Eligible submissions must have been published or aired for the first time between 31 July 2023 and 1 August 2024. The winners will be honored with a trophy and a personalized certificate, along with an invitation to join a Save the Children international press trip or program visit, providing a unique opportunity to further engage with the organization’s mission and witness its impact firsthand.
