Rossiya Segodnya - The Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest 2024
Rossiya Segodnya

The Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest welcomes participants aged 18 to 33, aiming to champion young photographers and assist them in their pursuit of professional excellence. The 2024 contest comprises four categories with corresponding awards for aspiring young photographers:

  1. Top News: Entries in this category focus on significant events in the lives of individuals and nations, encompassing major political and social events, reports from war zones and areas affected by natural disasters, and decisive moments in people's lives.

  2. Sports: This category captures moments in sports, including victories, dramatic losses, daily sports training, and the beauty of sports competitions.

  3. My Planet: Encompassing a diverse range of topics and images worldwide, this category showcases the kaleidoscope of everyday life, from big cities to small towns, nature scenes, ethnographic and religious holidays.

  4. Portrait: A Hero of Our Time: This category features individual or group portraits, whether documentary or posed, emphasizing the author's ability to reveal the inner world of the subjects and express their mental qualities and character through unique appearances.

  5. Top View: Single photographs taken from a bird's eye view are accepted, depicting various subjects such as plants, animals, city life, people, everyday life moments, sporting events, and abstract imagery. The shooting angle is a decisive factor, and images can be taken using different equipment, including quadcopters, cameras, or mobile phones.

For each category, there are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes for a single photograph and a series, respectively. However, only single entries are accepted for the Sports and Top View categories. Entries can consist of a single photograph or a series of up to 12 photographs, with minor corrections allowed for cropping, balance, and density. Photos must be in JPG format with acceptable compression not exceeding 10, and the image dimensions should range from 2,200 to 5,700 pixels on the longer side.

The file name should include the photograph's serial number, the author's name and last name, the title, and the year it was shot, separated by underscores (e.g., 01_Smith_James_The_Spring_2011). File names must be in Latin script, and the file size should not exceed 20 MB. Additionally, the file must contain all EXIF data.

Participants upload and manage their entries on their personal page at STENINCONTEST.COM, allowing additions or replacements until submission. Photos must have been taken after January 1, 2023, and series from previous years are accepted if the last photograph in the series is from 2023 or 2024 in exceptional cases. Once an entry is submitted, no further additions or replacements are permitted.
