About:
"Sedimentations" invites us to consider the world not as a fixed surface, but as a layered continuum of time, matter, memory and transformation. From geological strata to emotional residues, from archival fragments to traces of lived experience, sedimentation becomes a lens through which we can explore both physical landscapes and internal territories. It evokes processes of accumulation and erosion, of visibility and disappearance, of what is preserved and what resurfaces with time.
In this context, we encourage artists to reflect on the multiple forms of sedimentation at play in contemporary life. How do identities, places, histories, societies or relationships build up over time? What accumulates, what is buried, and what comes back to the surface?
This open call welcomes photographic and lens-based works that engage with the notion of sedimentation in all its forms - conceptual, literal or metaphorical. We are interested in how photography can act as a medium of sedimentation itself: capturing traces, constructing layers of meaning, or uncovering what lies beneath the surface. Through this exhibition, we intend to create a space for reflection on the way things build up, dissolve, and reconfigure both in the world and within ourselves.
