The entries are in duplex = Surfer + Photographer, regardless of gender. The entry limit is 32 duplexes in this edition (32 surfers + 32 photographers), totaling 64 competitors.

At the end of each battery, each one presents as many as 2 best photos in the photos, which will add to the technical beauty of the image as a whole, and not to the surfing performance, in accordance with the game criteria (important to read the regulations for more details!). The best location media in the photos are forward for the next battery. Overall, 22 batteries will be made, lasting 20 minutes each, made up of 4 duplexes. Two exceptions: finally lasts 30 minutes; and the two replenishment batteries will last 15 minutes each and 8 duplexes on each battery.
