We define journalism broadly and welcome applications from creative practitioners across all public media forms — including writing, photography, film, public poetry, video, visual art, music, and theatre. We support those who use the public media to investigate abuses of power, expose injustices against the public, and uphold the truth.At a time when truth is under attack and independent voices are threatened, our global community stands together to sustain courageous storytelling and its positive impact on society.

We will hand out as much money as we raise. Our costs have been generously covered by a donor and every dollar we raise outside the endowment will go to journalists. Our aim is to provide grants between $10k-$100k depending on funds raised.
