The team behind the Photosynthesis Festival, acknowledging photography’s innate desire to take on printed form, launches an open call for photographers who are either preparing their first photo book or developing a body of work intended to become one. This call, titled “The Book That Doesn’t Exist (Yet),” is a celebration of potential, process, and the power of print.

We are seeking unpublished and previously unseen projects that were conceived with the intention of becoming photo books—whether completed or still in development.

Through this initiative, the festival will support the full production of three photobooks, covering all associated costs, from editorial work to printing and binding. Selected artists will retain complete creative freedom and may also receive curatorial and technical guidance upon request throughout the process.
