The Vórtice Festival makes public the opening of registrations for its 5th edition, reaffirming its commitment as an annual event dedicated to the dissemination and promotion of visual artistic practices that explore the multiple dimensions of sexuality in contemporary art. The curator of this edition is appointed by Leonardo Maciel and Paulo Cibella, idealizers of the initiative, and includes works in different languages, including painting, photography, sculpture, audiovisual, performance and independent publications. People over 18 years of age, from Brazil and abroad, may be registered between March 2 and 29 on the Vórtice Cultural site [www.vorticecultural.com]. Three monetary prizes will be offered to the artists chosen by the public and by the curator. The 5th edition will be held between May 29 and June 27, in São Paulo. The festival aims to serve as a space for freedom and artistic experimentation, encouraging productions that investigate the intersections between body, desire and identity, in critical dialogue in contexts of institutional and market censorship. In previous editions, the Vórtice Festival brought together more than 250 artists from 10 countries and received approximately 8 thousand visitors, progressively expanding its scale and international reach.
