About:
The 2027 Photographiques festival will take place from March 13 to April 11 in Le Mans (dates to be confirmed) and in surrounding partner cities. Organized annually by the "Festival de l'image" association, the event brings together a wide audience with contemporary photographic creation, the works themselves, and the artists who create them.
As part of the Bicentennial year of the invention of photography, the 2027 edition of the festival will exceptionally offer a two-part program:
- part of the program will remain non-thematic and open to any proposal - a second part will be dedicated to the theme of landscape, in its broadest sense, a proposal that is part of the bicentennial project of the LUX network.
In both cases, the organizers will prioritize the diversity of subjects and photographic forms (including installations, within the limits of the technical constraints of the exhibition halls), while seeking authorial visions characterized by their artistic qualities, originality and coherence.
All artists who have created a photographic work are eligible to participate, regardless of age or nationality. Applicants may only submit one series.
Registration is free.
Each photographer selected through the call for submissions will have their work presented in a group or solo exhibition from March 13th to April 11th. They will receive €500 as a display fee for the exhibition. The photographer will be responsible for arranging the shipping and return of their images in agreement with the association. Only transportation and travel expenses will be reimbursed up to €400 upon presentation of receipts (invoices, original train tickets, fuel receipts, highway tolls, etc.). The "Festival de l'image" association will not cover the production costs of the exhibited works.
