About:
Organized by Ricoh Imaging Company, Ltd., the GR Photo Festival 2025 is an international photography competition open to all photographers — professionals and amateurs alike — who use cameras from the GR series, including both digital and film models.
Launched to celebrate the GR community and its unique vision, the festival encourages participants to capture moments of everyday beauty under the theme “Daily Life.” The aim is to reveal the subtle emotions, stories, and atmospheres found in ordinary moments, seen through the exceptional compact lens of a GR camera.
Submissions are open from 1 October 2025 to 21 December 2025 (Japan Standard Time). Each participant may submit up to three single images taken between December 2024 and December 2025. Entries must be unpublished works photographed exclusively with a GR series camera.
There is no entry fee, making the festival accessible to all GR users worldwide. The contest’s spirit is one of community, artistry, and sharing, rather than competition for monetary gain.
Selected works will be exhibited at the GR Photo Festival 2026 Exhibition in Tokyo and other potential venues. These photographers will receive international recognition through Ricoh Imaging’s official platforms, including GR Blog and related promotional channels.
Winners will be announced privately in mid-February 2026, followed by the public announcement later that month. The exhibition of selected works will open in March 2026, offering a showcase of diverse interpretations of everyday life from around the world.
Through this open call, Ricoh continues to strengthen its connection with the GR photography community, celebrating personal vision, spontaneity, and the ability to find poetic moments within the ordinary.
