My Voice, My Story is not a typical call for images. It is built around a single, specific idea: pairing  artwork with a personal narrative that the artist feels ready to share. Created by Goddessarts Magazine as a special project, the open call focuses on lived experience connected to violence, systemic harm, trauma, resilience, and transformation, with an emphasis on awareness rather than sensationalism. The project is open to artists worldwide, and photographic work can be submitted as long as it follows the file requirements.

For photographers, the angle is clear. This is closest to conceptual photography where meaning, context, and intention matter as much as aesthetics, and where the artist statement is part of the submission itself. Applications allow up to four artworks, plus a short written statement (up to 500 characters) explaining the connection between the work and the story behind it. Submission is free, and a participation fee applies only if a submission is accepted.
