About:
To pay tribute to Mrs. Evelyn H. Lauder , who died on November 12, 2011, and to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Pink Ribbon, The Estée Lauder Companies France launched the first edition of a major national photo competition in 2012: the Estée Lauder Companies Pink Ribbon Photo Award .
This event also aims tomobilize the general public in favor of the awareness campaign for early detection of breast cancerwhich takes place every year in October and in whichThe Estée Lauder Companies Franceis actively involved as a founding member, withMarie Claire , of theRuban Roseassociation.
Since its creation, withthe support of itspartnersand thanks tothe commitment of the members of itsJury , theEstée LauderCompaniesPink Ribbon Photo Awardcompetitionhas become over the years an artistic and societal event, which is part of the tradition of the humanist photography movement, itself born in France.
The Estée Lauder Companies Pink Ribbon Photo Award shines a spotlight on often anonymous life stories—always unique and never ordinary—and helps break down some of the taboos surrounding the experiences of many women, and sometimes men, who are confronted with the disease.
Stories of family, friendship, love, reflections on illness, unvarnished portraits, moving visual chronicles, humor… the photographic gesture and the unwavering bond of solidarity between models and photographers represent a profound human commitment.
The competition, now in its 13th edition, has inspired other photo competitions and artistic events dedicated to the fight against breast cancer, or cancer in general. It has inspired vocations among young (and not so young!) photographers, but above all, it has allowed many to escape isolation, to find smiles and hope through the eyes of others. This is what we are most proud of!
At the end of each edition, forty finalists are selected by our Jury. Among them, the four winners: the threeJury Prizes(Grand Prize and two Accessit Prizes) and theTéva Public Prize, awarded by internet users.
