FREE ENTRY / BF26 - Vila Franca de Xira Photography Biennial

The BF26 - Photography Biennial opens the application period – from April 6th to 23rd – for submissions of works competing for three prizes within the themes "Biennial Photography Prize", "Vila Franca de Xira Municipality Prize" and "Bullfighting Prize". The Photography Biennial is an initiative organized by the Vila Franca de Xira Municipal Council since 1989, with the aim of promoting photography as an artistic expression and constituting a space for interaction and cultural participation. The Regulations establish new prizes for this year's edition: Biennial Photography Prize: €10,000.00 "Vila Franca de Xira Municipality" Prize: €2,000.00 "Bullfighting" Prize: €2,000.00 Authors may apply for one of the prizes, with a maximum of 30 unpublished images. The Photography Biennial represents an important moment in the Municipality's cultural calendar, and is also a national reference for events of this nature. BF26 will take place from November 21, 2026 to March 7, 2027, at Celeiro da Patriarcal, in what will be its 19th edition. Similar to previous years, alongside the exhibition of all selected works and candidates for the awards, a curatorial program will be on display in various spaces throughout the city of Vila Franca de Xira.
