CALL - FOTO 2024 is a photography publication and exhibition that explores the profound influence of photography on contemporary art by highlighting the various roles the medium plays in cultural commentary, documentation, journalism, and as a medium for conveying political and historical narratives.
Celebrating photography's versatility, FOTO 2024 assembles all photographic genres, formats and applications to create an impactful collection of works that emphasizes the importance of photography in contemporary art.
EXHIBITION - FOTO 2024 officially launches July 6th; artists and artworks will be reviewed, juried, and ADDED MONTHLY, ensuring that online visitors and collectors experience fresh and exciting new works continuously. All selected artists and their artwork will be featured on our website and on the international sales platform ARTSY. As an 8 year gallery partner of Artsy, our online exhibitions attract tens of thousands of unique views in addition to 2.5 million visitors to th ARTSY platform. This extensive visibility ensures that artists and exhibitions featured by Dama Gallery reach a wide and engaged audience, alongside prestigious galleries such as Gagosian, Hauser & Wirth, and Simon Lee.
SOLO EXHIBITION - In addition to monthly individual image selections, Dama Gallery will also choose photographers for solo exhibitions. Those selected will receive a feature spread in the publication, a three-month online exclusive solo exhibition, and an artist interview to be released on the Gallery Podcast.
PUBLICATION - Artists chosen for this exhibit will be featured in a hardcover photography book commemorating the exhibition. Each selected artist will receive a free digital copy of the publication, while the full-color folio will be available for purchase. Copies of the publication will be donated to the Fine Arts Library (FAL) at the University of Texas at Austin and to the LACMA Balch Art Research Library in Los Angeles for their permanent collections. Our FOTO 2024 publication will be released at the close of the exhibition in January 2025.
